More Dress Pics

All Photos Personal
An Update! The Save the Date's arrived on Monday and I mailed them today!!! Hooray!

Also last Thursday, I went with FH down to the bigger city about a 1 1/2 hour drive away. He had test prep for his new job and I needed to take the car in to get it checked out (a whole 'nother story, as I ended up driving a beautiful sexy white 2012 A4 all day).

Anyway, I went to David's Bridal to try on my dress with the correct petticoats, corset and veil. I also got to see it clipped back. It was great because I have never seen the dress fitting before. I bought it online before even getting to see the dress, let alone try it on.

I got to get all jacked up and try on a bunch of veils, headpieces and tiaras. You'll remember that I was wanting to wear a birdcage veil but upon trying them on, I just couldn't get them to look good. I guess my style is more classic. I am now going to wear a cathedral length lace veil. Here are the pictures! I love it so much!!!

Which Invitation? Please help!

I am torn between doing a navy invitation or a grey invitation. I love both. Please help me decide! Note, these are both rough drafts, they are on ivory cotton resume paper on either grey or navy cardstock. The edges will obviously be even and the names not blurred out...

Both designs by me

Centerpieces!

I am so stoked! My centerpieces are almost done. Months of hoarding glass bottles and jars have payed off, and it's one more thing I can erase from the budget. I finally sat down and figured out how many bottles I would need to make my tables look full. On my dining room floor, I taped out the dimensions of my table runner/table so I could visualize better. I brought out some of my jar collection and arranged them as follows. It is going to look great. And the best part about it is that I am only short a few bottles. Nothing that a few weeks of drinking starbucks or making spagetti from a jar won't fix. I won't even need to rent or buy kerr jars like I originally thought. I still need to buy 3 more little antique medicine bottles to use as bud vases but I already have 15!
Like I said, that is way more to check off the budget, since really, all these bottles are free except the antique ones. I also started stockpiling all glass bottles that go through our house (compulsion I think). I plan to recycle them. I did take pictures so you can see my process. I hope you can visualize, like me, how cool this will look when it has pink and ivory wildflowers and candles in the jars.
Anyone else putting something free (or somthing you would have bought anyway) to use at your wedding?

Boudoir Love

Dear FH Please do not read the following post...

Thank you.

As a wedding present, I am going to do a boudoir shoot and put the pictures in an album for my FH. I am way excited. I do love my photographer. I already let her know that I was not comfortable with having the pictures online (obvs) so this is one shoot that I will NOT be putting on my facebook.
I will be clothed, but scantily clad of course. I want them to be like the big beautiful pictures of the Victoria's Secret models in the Fitting Rooms. Very sexy but very tasteful.
My photographer is buying a red chaise and we are looking for a location with big windows and brick walls. I plan on sewing a corset, jury is still out on the color, and also taking some photos in an ivory VS teddy.

Now, I have no illusions about my weight. I know I am not large but since turning 20, I have suddenly sprouted poufy hips, thighs and stomach. The armpit boob is a recent development as well. I used to be a stick but never worked out. Now I am having to get my butt in gear and start working out more. Pilates has helped, as has this great ski season. I hope to keep it up until April when I plan on taking the boudoir pictures.

Anyone else planning on doing boudoir shoots? Any one who has and can offer suggestions?

The Real Reason for all the Hullabaloo

Last night I had another wedding nightmare, but this one turned out good.

This time I had the right dress, we were at the right venue and even the colors were right. It was just the wrong time of day and I was walking down a different aisle, and I couldn't find the rings. I started to protest saying, "This isn't right. This isn't where I'm supposed to walk." All the guests were looking at me strangely, they didn't know what I was talking about. And then FH walked over to me and I saw him in his suit and the way he looked at me made nothing else matter. He hugged me and I started crying because I was so happy. He didn't have to say anything, all at once I realized why I was there and how perfect everything was even in it's imperfection. I woke up before we actually got married but I'm pretty sure I got a glimpse of what my wedding day will be like. So until then, even though the knot.com is begging me to be stressed, and according to my timeline I have like ten million tasks overdue, I am not going to sweat it. I have the big details lined up. At the end of the day, I would marry him wearing a trash bag at the county courthouse and it would still be the happiest day of my life thus far.

6 Months to Go

As of Tomorrow we are at the 6 month mark. That sounds so short in wedding planning time but so long in real life time. (Wedding Planning Time is exponentially longer because no decision can ever be made in an instant, because if you do it feels like it's too easy and you are doing something wrong)

I really just want to be married already but there are so many hoops to jump through. I have gotten a lot done however. We have finalized the guest list (yay that was so stressful!), finalized the rental items, and contacted caterers and florists. We are inviting 70 people but I expect only 45 or so to attend.

I even found a pig to roast! He is probably still a baby but by the time August rolls around he will be a 150lb porker, ripe for the roasting. By the way that is not 150lbs of meat, thats 150lbs live weight. We pretty much nailed down what we want for the menu. Roast pig, baked potato bar (with cheese, mushrooms, salsa, grilled chicken, black beans, spinach, etc everything to make a baked potato awesome), and grilled hearts of romaine caesars. Mmmm I can't wait for our wedding food.

Last night I was working on the hanky that I will be wearing for the wedding. It's antique, white, and has a great soft feel to it. I love the feel of it. But it was only after I bought it, I found that there was a big fat embroidered K on it. My future initial will be L so this wouldn't work. Oh I wish I had taken pictures because last night I took a seam ripper and tweezers to it and got the K totally out. I did stab myself in the index finger with the seam ripper so typing is hard today. Anyway after I ironed it, it looks totally great.

Today I am meeting with the photographer. We are having coffee and going antiquing. We are also going to be discussing the possibility of a Boudoir photo shoot. She is giving me an awesome deal on it and I am really excited. I am going to give it to FH as a wedding present.
